Hello, it’s Grayson here. I’m the dashing young reporter for the No Fun Press press agency. I love doing journalism, reporting news, and producing content. Spielberg is making a movie about me called “The Post-er” because I am so good at posting.
We started June with Dundas West Fest and GOD DAMN what a way to kick it off. It was like that scene with Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction but instead of being harrowing and hard to watch it was busy and stressful. I had a panic attack and Reilly got a back tattoo [and also had a panic attack]. All around it was good though, and it’s always very nice to see your smiling faces. We love Toronto and all of you!
After that we really dove into finishing our Summer collection. It was like a half-dozen new tees or something crazy. It was also lots of weed stuff, if you’re into that kind of thing. Not that we condone or do weed, because we are a responsible and mature company, and we are both responsible and mature adults, but if you do weed, we definitely have you covered, or, uh, whatever.
The TL;DR here is that we’re super proud of how the collection turned out, and are totally floored by your support! Seriously, every time we release stuff and it goes well we’re both stunned, and SUPER thankful.
Being out of school is weird, and June/July were definitely “transition” months for us. I think Reilly and I are both getting used to me being in the studio more and working 9-5. He makes me wear a suit.
I’m trying to think of exciting personal-life stuff that I can overshare with you, my audience, but honestly I’m coming up blank. I feel like that’s a good sign? It’s been a really nice couple of months. I’m dating someone that I like, my job is great, and I’m excited by the work I’m doing on my own. Frankly, what more could I ask for? In looking back on the last couple of months I have to say they’ve probably been some of my better ones EVER maybe, so, you know, thank you to everyone who made that possible. In June I read Jean Genet’s The Thief’s Journal and HOLY FUCK is it good (and incredibly NSFW). I’ve literally thought about it every day since I finished it. That’s my recommendation for this post. Reading is cool.
All that being said, I really did a number on my body this summer - two hospital trips in two months - so that’s been not great. Stay safe out there! It’s been hot-as-hell recently, which also kind of sucks. I’m not one to complain about nice weather or anything, but fuck, forty-degree days are maybe a little much for me.
Anyways - we have some exciting things coming up that we’re both really psyched on. We’re going to be launching a cool and informative YouTube.com series about art and whatever other dumb shit I think I can run my mouth about. The first episode should be out by the end of August. We have a pile of pop-ups over the next little bit - follow us on #instagram to keep on top of that, or read our blog every day like it’s the old times and it’s a newspaper and you’re some surly guy smoking a cigarette and drinking a disgusting coffee in your weird kitchen where somehow EVERYTHING is a petroleum byproduct including all the food. If you do either one of those things you should be good and up-to-date.
OK OK - Reilly here now, I am taking over at the end here to give you some last-minute insights. You probably didn't notice, but I've been pretty quiet on online this past month or two. At first it was because we were grinding too hard to get the new collection out for you, but that slowly turned into a real anxiety overload that I'm still working through (the next drop is gonna be fire).
My main point here though is: Please do yourself a favour and be kind to your own mind! Take a break from all that "hustling", and "grinding", and whatever other bullshit that is taking up your energy if you feel like it's getting to you negatively. I've been able to meet a ton of you amazing creative people through No Fun and I really do want the best for y'all in the long run. This shit ain't a game!
Thank you for your support, and much love,
Grayson and Reilly
